Here at two circles, we have regrouped to bring you our 14th release. The music comes from a fresh minded, youthful talent out of Northampton, UK: Josif. His four track EP delves deep into the ever-evolving sound of garage and broken beat music, and Josif finds a way to keep the rhythms mysterious and original. The release opens with Metro, a track bouncing with soft chords and drums that run along like shadows, subtly breathing air into the track while maintaining the original drive. The album's title song, Numb, features stabby, synth leads that set the same, dubby mood that seems to meld the whole album together. Scotch Bonnet is a grand outlook on a dark, albeit uptempo, dancefloor garage track. Still keeping the echoing chords and delayed effects, it pushes the dark space that envelopes the track. The final track of the release, Wasted, flexes Josif's rhythmic prowess, while the soft, enticing synths and light, vocal additions combine for another perspective into the youngster's sound.
